The SSAT is usually associated with boarding schools admissions, with 2 levels:

  • The Lower Test: through 7th grade
  • The Upper Test: 8th grade and up

  • The Lower Level: grades 4-5
  • The Middle Level: grades 6-7

Students typically start SSAT or ISEE test prep several months before they intend to take the test; the optimal schedule depends on the student. Diagnostic test results and other considerations allow us to design an individual plan for your child. While either test might be accepted by a particular independent school, it is advisable to check the specific requirements for any school in your plans.
